Ever heard the term "overtone?"  It's one of those words you've heard, and you know it has to do with sound, but what does it really mean?  Overtones are one of a few things that make music, and all sound, appreciable and often enjoyable.  The recording arts students at The New School are learning how to dissect sound and understand what makes our world full of infinite audible possibilities.  Thanks to the powerful, yet easy-to-use analysis tools, we can gain a fruitful understanding of the phenomenon we continually experience every second of our lives - sound.
