Recording Arts students study the theory behind the music they love

Put simply, music theory is the study of how music works.  Why do some notes played together make you happy; why do some sound more gloom?   Why do some rhythms make you want to dance, while others put your head in the clouds?  The students of the Recording Arts class are learning why and how music works the way it does.  Whether you're analyzing Kanye's latest smash hit, or Mozart's classics, music makes much more sense in the light of the theory that explains it all.
